AI learns Small Basic
#1
(translated by Google translator)

Hi all.  Shy
One day, I was sitting in front of the monitor and feeling sad. Almost no one on our forum writes anything, says anything, or asks anything.
In this situation, I couldn't even bring myself to create a demo program. I thought, why create a program if no one is interested in it.

Then I thought that I could call my Copilot for help.
Copilot proudly declared that he could write code in Small BASIC and knew the LitDev library.
I thought that if people are too lazy to write code in Small BASIC themselves, then maybe they would be interested in writing code with the help of AI.

Therefore, I suggest you a new topic where you can talk about your achievements in teamwork with AI.

( this is now fashionable Wink )

I used ChatGPT to create but it makes mistakes like it calls sub like methods with arguments and the standard library it use some methods which are not in it

If everything were simple, then it wouldn't be interesting.  Smile
But if you get significant time savings, then that’s already good.
If the AI suggests another interesting solution to you, then this is another advantage of using AI.

My biggest hope is that if AI makes writing Small Basic programs even easier, we'll have more people on our forum showing us lots of new programs.  Rolleyes

Hi all.

New users are registering on our forum. Most of them are adults.
I can't believe that adults don't have interesting ideas for creating programs in Small Basic (!).

Someone tell me WHY no one on our forum talks about anything?  Huh

( Maybe everyone's developments are secret commercial or military? If not, then why is everyone silent? I don't understand!  Cry )

I guess people have their own projects and don't really feel the need to share just for the sake of it.

Maybe also people don't like to ask questions, or think the question may be silly (there are NO silly questions) or prefer to try to figure it out themselves?

Whatever the reason, there are some SB users and we are here to help Smile

...

I understand that. There are different people. People have different situations. But when out of 100 registered people there are not even five people actively communicating, then this seems surprising to me.  Huh

I'm very sorry.

Some of my thoughts on using AI. I have found that when you try to use AI for Small Basic programs that AI does make a lot of mistakes, but the interesting thing about it is that generally it has a different way of doing some things. The more that I use it I am convinced that it is a great educational tool. Sometimes when you go to program something it's like you have writers block, but with AI you can give it some of your thoughts and that will get you started. If you haven't started using this tool for your programming, I highly recommend that you start. It won't make you lazy. It will make you a better programmer.
